U8 Red

Excellent performance from the Under 8 Reds on Saturday in atrocious conditions, battling hard against a very strong Ashford team.

Lovely goals from Kaiden Reilly, Sebastian Nolan, Matthew Sheeran, Max Kelly, Charlie Meaney, Theo Vernon, Tadgh Hodgkinson amongst others.

Some stand out performances and really good midfield play from Max Kelly and Charlie Meaney who both were box to box defending and attacking.

A sweet left footed player is Daniel McGarry who yet again had a brilliant game.

James Cluskey was busy as usual with hard tackles and breaking up the play excellently around the middle of the park.

Thanks to Ashford for travelling up and a big well done to both teams!

U9 Yellow

Another great display by the U9 Yellow Team who welcomed a very strong Avonmore side to Kilcoole.

Isaac Renwick Kirwan added another 4 goals to his tally. Tadgh Murphy had his best performance to date with 5 goals and great attacking play.

Sam Lester, Peter O'Driscoll, Kai Pilkington, and Myles McAllen were also among the goalscorers.

Luke O'Riordan put in a "brick wall" performance in goal. Charlie Cleary and Hari McCabe both stood out with super performances, goals, assists, tackles and covered every blade of grass.

This was a top quality display against an equally good Avonmore team with plenty goals, tackles and passing football.

Thanks to Avonmore and hopefully see you again later in the season!

U9 Green

The Sunday morning alarm clocks rang surprisingly early for the u9 Green team, who were up at the crack of dawn to make the trip to Arklow Utd.

Despite the early start - there were no sleepy heads on the pitch, as St Anthonys started strong against a determined Arklow Utd side.

Early goals from all areas of both pitches, including from Ardan Jayawardene and Floyd Mulholland, set up a series of very competitive match ups.

While the supporters who travelled with us didn't know whether to put on raincoats or a sunhat - there was no such uncertainty on the pitch.

Matthew White and Luke Hannon bamboozled the opposition into thinking there were 2 goalkeepers on the line with their flying displays.

Meanwhile, the twinkle toed trickery of Owen Keating and Jane Hayes, kept St Anthonys on the front foot at all times.

Well done to Arklow Utd. A great morning of competitive football had by all.

U10 Green

Our greens faced a tough battle on Saturday against an excellent Rathnew AFC side on Dermot Wheeler Park.

Great effort from all the kids, the coaches are delighted to see them improving every week. Some super tackles, passing and teamwork on display by both teams.

Our player of the match today was Lauren who worked hard all game, well done Lauren! Special mention too for Jacob who showed off some excellent footwork and tackling.

Thanks to Rathnew for travelling up and to the supporters who cheered the kids on. Thanks again to Autoparts Express who kindly sponsor this team.

Well done boys and girls!

U11 Green

U11 Greens were playing at home to Shillelagh on Saturday morning, just as the rain came out.

It didn’t stop them playing some lovely football in the first half, with some slick passing across the freshly cut Dermot Wheeler surface.

Alex Finnegan opened the scoring with a wonderful effort from his left wing position on the edge of the box.

Goals followed from both teams and Shillelagh came strongly back into the game in the second half. It was a real battle, but Antos held out with some very composed defending with Eamon Owens putting in another standout performance.

The team’s fine run continues, well done to all the players, thanks to the parents for the sideline support, no matter the weather and a big thank you to Shillelagh for making the long drive to Kilcoole for a very entertaining game!

U11 Yellow

Saturday saw a great game for our yellows against Enniskerry in difficult, wet conditions.

Super play by the whole squad with some composed defensive work from Blake Doyle and Viggo Albertson in particular, which allowed the midfield and attackers the freedom to play some excellent passing.

A lovely hat trick from Sam French Mullin and a fantastic display from Maja Cody in midfield, well done to you both!

Thanks to Enniskerry for such an entertaining game and to our soaked supporters for cheering the kids on!

U12 Red

A tough defeat on Saturday for our Red team against the Division 1 league leaders Arklow United on Dermot Wheeler Park.

Although the score line was against us, the boys gave everything on the pitch and should be very proud of themselves.

Adam O'Brien and Tom O'Riordan were superb again this week but Bryan Nolan and Billy Cremins stole the show. Bryan making some unbelievable saves as goalkeeper and Billy having his game of the season so far with an excellent work rate, tracking back to help defenders and looking dangerous up the wing when attacking.

Thanks to Arklow United FC for travelling up, to the referee and to the large crowd that attended to cheer the lads on.

We will keep our heads up, learn from it and come back stronger in our next game!

U14 Black

Hard luck to the Under 14 Black team who went down early to Arklow on Saturday morning with the bare eleven.

Going down 2-0 within 15 minutes, they showed great resilience to get back to 2-2 by half time.

Dominic Awobajo scored the first goal after some great work by Lucas Constantino. Lucas & Dom were involved in the second goal also with Scott Byrne finishing with aplomb.

The second half was very even. Daire Grehan and Matthew Ryan defended well throughout the game and when called upon, Ryan Gray made some good stops.

Unfortunately, the game was decided by an extremely dubious penalty decision that ultimately left Arklow with the 3-2 win.

Many thanks to both our Under 13 players Ben Stapleton and Scott Byrne who got late call ups, played the full game and did very well considering they were playing an age group up, well done lads!

Seniors

Antos seniors welcomed Arklow Town to Finn park for our first mid week game of the season on Wednesday evening.

The first half saw the Kilcoole side have plenty of possession and chances on goal.

We finally found the net when our top marksman, Shane Doyle, volleyed home into the far bottom corner. We stayed on top for the remainder of the half and went in at the break 1-0.

We broke through early in the second half with Paddy Woods slotting home our second. Our third came from one of Dan Lacey’s notorious solo runs, hitting the ball off the Arklow keeper and finding the back of the net with the rebound.

Great football played by the Goosebank lads. Another 3 well earned points in the bag.

Man of the match was Matty Kennedy who bossed the midfield all night. Well done mate.

O35s

Another great win on Saturday in the 1st round of the Matt O'Leary Cup.

It was a hard-fought battle against Confey FC that finished 1 - 1.

It then went straight to penalties and Antos came out 3 - 2 winners.

Bring on the next round!
