U9 Green

The u9 Green team travelled to Greystones to face the newly formed Newcastle team on a sharp looking pitch on Saturday- (albeit a long uphill walk from the carpark).

The pitch wasn't the only thing looking sharp however, with some lovely crisp clean passing movements from St Anthonys - particularly from Jamie Cleary and Rian Meenan - leading to some early chances on both pitches. Ely Gao was a defensive rock at times, both on the pitch and when donning the goalkeeper jersey.

Floyd Mulholland and Luke Hannon were our chief goalscorers, with a brace each on the day. However, most impressively, every single player worked hard from start to finish for their team. Driven on, on each pitch primarily by Daniel Prendergast and Sam Keatings absolutely relentless running and chasing.

Special mention to Jacob O'Brien making his debut with us today - and took to the frenetic pace of the matches like a duck to water.

This team is developing well week on week and we're delighted with the kids drive and application.
Well done Greens!

U9 Yellow

The Sunday morning game fixture away to Arklow started very slowly but the u9 yellow team eventually found their form. Over 40 goals shared between both teams in an action packed affair where the strikers were definately on top.

The deadly duo of Myles McAllen and Tadgh Murphy lead the way in front of goal.

Hari McCabe and Luke O'Riordan put in another assured performance while the major positive of the day was the partnership between Charlie Cleary and Kai Pilkington who dominated their games from defense and pushing into midfield. Both tough in their tackles, impressive pass and move football and both scoring from powerful long range shots.

Some positive signs in difficult conditions for the u9s who continue to improve.

Thanks to Arklow United for their friendly welcome and some excellent competitive games!

U10 Green

A very even game v St Patrick’s for our U10 green team on Saturday Morning on Dermot Wheeler Park.

The game was played the way football should be, with great goals from both teams. St Anthonys passing and team work has improved enormously over the last few weeks which is brilliant to see.

Both home and away, St Patrick’s have been a great team to play so a big thank you to them for travelling up today.

Some lovely goals from Cian Lawless x 2, Aaron O'Toole,
Sean Driver x 2,Kevin Redmond x 2 and Noah Hennessy.

Well done to all

U12 Red

First win of the Shield campaign for our Red team on Wednesday on Dermot Wheeler Park against a very good Wicklow Rovers side.

Goals from Mason Kelly and Kyle McCormack had us 2 up going into half time. Wicklow very nearly pulled one back with a great strike but our first class keeper, Bryan Nolan, somehow managed to tip it over the crossbar.

Goals in the second half from Abel Bajric, Josh Campbell x 2, Shaun Fernandes and an OG sealed the win for Antos.

A deserved win and super stuff from all the lads this evening. A really great confidence boost after a run of bad luck over the past few weeks that hopefully they can bring with them to their league match at the weekend!

A big thank you to Rovers for travelling up and the best of luck with the rest of your shield campaign.

Well done boys

U12 Red

The U12 Red team played a short friendly game on Saturday morning v Glencormac after a time mix up for our scheduled league game.

To give all the lads a run around, we played a different team in each half.

Darragh Guy and Dexter Byrne played excellently today, a few great tackles won, some lovely passing and tracking back. Well done lads. Some super saves from Bryan Nolan and a nice goal from Mason Kelly.

Thanks to John Kelly for refereeing and to John Halls Glencormacs squad travelling down and for a great game, looking forward to another battle when the game is refixed.

Special mention to Cillian Corcoran and Shaun Fernandes who made their confirmation, we hope you both have a great day!

U14 Black

Our U14 Black team had their first premier shield game this season with Ashford in Finn Park on Thursday night.

Dominic Awobajo opened the scoring 5 minutes in with a driving run from centre mid and an outrageous 30-yard strike that gave the Ashford keeper no chance. Both he and James Dutton were giving the Ashford defence lots of problems early on.

Dutton then converted a penalty after a shot was handled by a defender on the Ashford goal line and then turned provider to cross from the left wing to Jerry Cox who sent his header across the keeper to the back of the net.

Ashford created some chances of their own but were thwarted by some good Anto’s defending.

In the last action of the first half, Oscar Kelly powerfully headed home a Dutton corner.

The second half was much the same, but the Ashford keeper was in superb form stopping efforts from Dom, Dafydd, Lucas, Jerry, and Jude. The game finished with another sweet strike. This time it came from the boot of Tom Quaid who curled one into the top right-hand corner from twenty yards after a nice layoff from Lucas Constantino.

Special mention to the ref J. Gilsen who let the game flow and spoke well to both sets of players before, during and after the game.

Thanks to Ashford for the game and we wish them the best of luck this season!

We would also like to wish Joey Drumgoole a speedy recovery from his injury setback in training last week. He will be missed and we hope to see him back on the pitch soon.
