U9 Yellow

The u9 yellow team got back to their goalscoring ways on the scenic Glencormac pitch on Sunday. 30 goals across 4 games as the guys and girls showed their class as they returned to top form.

Myles McAllen was unstoppable in front of goal while Hari McCabe was solid as a rock in defence. Declan Phelps played his best game of the season. Oskar Toomey showed he's equally as confident with both feet with some top
class crosses into the box.

Luke O'Riordan and Charlie Cleary were once again on the driving forces, full of energy, bags of goals, great passing and impressive in goal, defence and attack. Keep it up lads!

Thanks to Glencormac for hosting some very competitive games.

U9 Green

The St Anthonys u9 Green team players earned every single 99, ice pop or barbequed burger they get to enjoy in the nice weather, thanks to a hard working and battling display away to Arklow Town on Sunday.

The sun hadn't quite cracked through the clouds before the first matches kicked off this morning - but the shine came from some dazzling performances on the pitch - with fantastic through balls from Marley Tighe and Rian Meenan splitting defences for Rian again and Luke Hannon to finish from.

2 Man of the Match displays came from players on each team, with Cillian Quaid giving his impression of the Energiser bunny by covering every blade of grass in support of his team. While Matthew White impersonated Gandalf the Grey by standing firm and stating "Thou shalt not pass" - while defending on his own against 3 Arklow attackers on several occasions.

Another great morning for football and loads learnt on the pitch today. Thanks to Arklow Town for a good mornings football played in great spirit.

Finally - but most importantly :
While most of the time, football is the centre of attention with this team - today, most of the whoops and cheers from the sideline came for the debut of the Green teams new kit, kindly sponsored by Ryan Hannon Electrical.
Its fantastic to have a local business support the kids in playing football with the right gear, and all the kids send a huge thank you to Ryan for his sponsorship and support.

U11 Yellow

A belated but a deserved shout out to the U11 yellows for another great performance on Saturday, battling hard for every ball and scoring some fantastic team goals.

It was a full turn out for the squad, everyone eager to play as much football as they can, enjoying every minute of it.

Well done yellows, and thanks to all the parents for their great support on the sidelines!

U12 Blue

Our U12 Blue team are into the Premier Cup Final after 2-1 win over Rathnew in Rathnew on Saturday.

Tyler McElvaney got two crackers in the first half, speed and finishing a joy to watch. Owen Corcoran cleared off the line for Antos to keep it at 2-0, but Rathnew got one back in the second half.

Great work in mid field by Fionn Jayawardene , our defence of Patrick Parker , Drew Doyle and Nigel Suneesh were on fire as Rathnew pushed for the equaliser.

The added bonus all players got game time and made it count.

Well done boys, looking forward to the cup final

U12 Red

A thrilling game on Wednesday for our U12 Reds against local rivals Enniskerry in Ballyman ended in a 3-2 win for the home side in the division 2 shield.

Goals came courtesy of Josh Campbell and Mason Kelly but every player on the pitch could have picked up a goal or two. Numerous wides, crossbar hits, the post, saves by the Enniskerry keeper... everywhere but the back of the net!

So many incredible individual efforts tonight, from Masons run from before the half way line, beating every player in his path to bury the ball in the back of the net, Dylan doing the same moments later only for the keeper to pull off a great save. Shaun having numerous chances up the wing, and todays MOTM Adam OBrien, rock solid in defence in the first half turned star striker in the second who was unbelievably unlucky to have a powerful shot whiz just over the cross bar just as the game ended. Numerous calls from Enniskerry players saying "watch out for that number four" is a sign of a game well played, well done Adam!

As always a big thanks to Enniskerry for such a clean, competitive and enjoyable game, always a pleasure.

Lastly, a MASSIVE thanks to John Cremins from Cremins & Moiselle for sponsoring training tops for our squad and coaches. The lads were absolutely delighted to receive them today and we are extremely grateful to you and our jersey sponsor, Derek Byrne of Keller Williams, for supporting them this year! If either of you could buy us a bit of luck too, that would be fantastic!!

Well done boys very proud of you all

U14 Black

St Anthonys U14 premier side continued their unbeaten run in their Shield competition on Tuesday night down in Ballard Park by overcoming a particularly good and physically imposing side in Shillelagh.

They started the game well, creating a few early opportunities for Dafydd Davies and Lucas Constantino.

But Shillelagh struck first with a neat finish from 6 yards after a ball over the top and a good cross from the left winger that caused confusion for the Antos back four.

As they have been doing all season, St Anthonys showed great resilience once again to not let the heads go down and create more chances in the first half.

The goal eventually came courtesy of Dominic Awobajo. He received the ball just inside the Shillelagh half and went on one of his mazy dribbles to finish strongly past the keeper.

Shillelagh created some chances of their own in the first half going close with a few shots that were either just over or well dealt with by netminder Ryan Gray.

The second half was a different beast with Antos moving up the gears prompted down the left wing by Jude Meenan and James Dutton.

The second goal came from a pinpoint Dutton delivery that Oscar Kelly headed in from close range.

The Anto’s team created more chances, but they lacked the composed finish that was needed.

The goal that sealed the win came with 5 minutes to go. After some good possession and interplay down the left-wing Dutton fed MOTM Awobajo who went around 2 defenders to hit a 20-yard screamer that bent and dipped at the last second into the top right-hand corner to give the keeper no chance.

Thanks to Shillelagh for hosting us on super surface in what was an extremely competitive game.

We wish you the best for the season (Maybe just not on Friday night when we meet again down in Ballard Park in the League 📷)

Well done lads!
